Gloria Oren has been honing her craft since she graduated from the Long Ridge Writer's Group's "Breaking Into Print" course. Gloria is an active member of several online writer's groups and her local group the Redmond Association of Spokenword (RASP) where she often participates in open mike gatherings.

As a reunited adoptee my goal is to published my autobiography so I can share my experience with others.

I grew up in both the Crown Heights and Flatbush areas of Brooklyn , NY, and attended both public and private schools. At the age of 15 I moved to Tel Aviv, Israel with my adoptive mother where she passed away in 1979. Two months later I married. My two sons are Sabras, both born in Israel; my daughter is American born and bred, like her mother.

In July 1990 I battled Hodgkin's Disease. Since radiation therapy ended in Oct 1990 I have been cancer free. Now, life can't be that dull, so in Dec 2005 I was diagnosed with T-2 Diabetes which is being kept under control with diet and exercise alone, at least for now.

I currently live in Washington state with my husband and three children.

What do I write?

Non-fiction articles (personal experience, parenting, senior issues...)

Poetry (mostly rhyming, limericks and acrostic poems)

My work-in-progress: An autobiography (the story of my life as an adoptee, my search and reunion that led to my second adoption)
